Timothy Kent Boyett

Timothy Kent Boyett, age 61, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of faith, music, and cherished memories. Born on Thursday, March 28, 1963, in Jonesboro, Louisiana, Timothy was the son of Wiley Allen and Louise Dickerson Boyett. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings, infant Nelson G. Boyett, Rev. Gerald Boyett, and Debra Short.

Timothy graduated from Dodson High School and embarked on a journey deeply rooted in his love for music and spirituality. He was a devout member of the community, known for his devotion to his faith and his passion for sharing the gospel through music. Timothy found solace and joy in playing guitar, particularly within the confines of his church community. His musical talents led him to win the esteemed Louisiana Gospel Hayride and be an integral part of the gospel group, "Fishers of Men." Whether strumming his guitar or lifting his voice in song, Timothy used every opportunity to glorify the Lord, leaving a profound impact on those around him.

Left to cherish his memory are his former wife and mother of his children, Lori Martin McManus; his children, April Boyett (Kenneth), Dodson, Savannah Boyett, and Caleb Boyett; as well as his siblings, Roger Boyett (Edith) and Elaine Rachal (Glen). Timothy's presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A homegoing celebration to honor Timothy's life will take place on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will commence at 2:00 PM, also at Cypress Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Blake Boyett officiating. Following the service, interment will be held at Cypress Creek Cemetery in Dodson, under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Winnfield.

Serving as pallbearers to carry Timothy to his final resting place will be Mike Boyett, Toby Boyett, Von Boyett, Blake Boyett, Donald Boyett, Jr., and Donald Boyett, Sr.
