Thomas Preston Latham, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruby; his wife Dian; and one stepson, Larry Gene. Those left to cherish his memory include his three children, Shree Toal (George), Tamara Miles (Jonathan), and Thomas "Tommy" Latham III (Jean); 2 step-children, Lisa Williams (Thomas); 5 grandchildren, Seth Crawford, Shelley Crawford Pleasant, Brooke Latham, Kaci Latham, and Chelsey Miles Kelley; 1 step-grandson, Thomas Williams Jr.; 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; two sisters, Jeanne Franks and Betty Holleman both of Winnfield and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Friday, March 21, at The Family Church in Winnfield, LA. A home-going service will be held at The Family Church on Friday, March 21st at 10 a.m. officiated by Reverends Nathan Newton, Joel Hines, and Mark Green followed by burial at Bolton-Teagle cemetery also in Winnfield.
Pallbearers will be Seth Crawford, Jason Jordan, Caleb Shields, Jaxon Harrell, Hudson Harrell, and Easton Higgs. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Miles and Tommy Latham.
Mrs. Gloria Faye Woods
February 26, 1958 - March 14, 2025
Our beloved Gloria Faye Woods was born February 26,1958 in Shreveport, LA. She was a gift to her parents, the late Eddie Willis and Vera Bowie. God called her from earthly labor to eternal rest March 14, 2025 Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, LA.
She entered the sacrament of matrimony with Michael C. Woods and this union was blessed with the birth on one daughter, Tiara Woods.
Mrs. Woods was baptized at the New Zion Baptist Church in Winnfield, LA and remained a life-long member of that congregation.
Grambling State University conferred upon her a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education. She utilized this formal training in her career path. Her most recent employment was that of being a Collection Agent for several firms.
This unforgettable lady enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and the extended family of her canine pets.
Preceding her in death were her parents, siblings: Earlene Burks, Alice Scott, Margaret Cage and Vera Shorter.
Those who will long treasure her dear memory are, her husband, Michael C. Woods of Winnfield, LA, one daughter, Tiara Woods of Houston, TX, siblings: Eddie Willis of Winnfield, LA and Diane Lewis of Houston, TX along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear and close friends.
Her life and legacy will be celebrated Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 a. m. in the New Zion Baptist Church of Winnfield where the Rev. Tommel Hamms is Pastor. The casketed remains will lie in state for public visitation at the church from 10:00 a. m. until service time. Interment will follow the Cedar Cemetery.
